I was commissioned by the African American Policy Forum, originators of the #SayHerName movement, to capture the 4th annual Tay Day celebration honoring the late Atatiana Jefferson.

#SayHerName raises awareness of black women victims of brutality and anti-Black violence.

Atatiana, a bright and driven young woman, tragically lost her life to a Fort Worth police officer in 2019. Each year, the community comes together for #TayDay weekend, featuring karaoke, a parade, festival, and gala, in a powerful tribute to her memory.
